SUMMARY
To provide students daily with a wholesome, nutritious Class “A” lunch, as determined by the National School Lunch Program.
Three Hours per day when school is in session.
DUTIES
- Prepare food for a full menu meal and ala carte’ according to menus, special dietary or nutritional requirements, and number of portions to be served.
- Handle, carry and serve food to students.
- Prepare food to ship out to other schools.
- Ensure that there are adequate trays and utensils for students.
- Retrieve/store items from storeroom, cooler, or freezer
- Responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchen including equipment and appliances.
- Wash service area, dishes, trays, pots/pans by hand, with sprayer and industrial dishwasher.
- Dry and store kitchen wares
- Clean and inspect equipment and appliances
- Sweep and mop floors.
- Helps maintain inventory levels of food products.
- Stores food properly and safely marking date and item.
- Complies with all county health rules and regulations.
- Communicates with the students regarding food selection.
- Reports any necessary equipment repair and maintenance to the supervisor.
- Complies with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards.
- Observes proper food preparation and handling techniques.
- Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned.
- Responsible for the lunch ticket program in their building.
- May be required to perform additional tasks as required by administration.
- Fill out production paperwork / do inventory once a week / order food once a week.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be familiar with food preparation including appliances, recipes, etc.
- Ability to understand and follow basic oral and written instructions.
- Enforce school regulations and policies in a professional manner.
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with fellow employees and pupils.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 45 lbs.
- Ability to push/pull up to 12 lbs.
- Ability to communicate to students, parents and staff in an acceptable/courteous manner.
- Sanitation License
SCHEDULING
The schedule is subject to change with district demands. Overtime is required when requested.
